Rusty Jackson remembers when he was a child, and people would ask "what do you want to be when you grow up?" He shrugged his shoulders and said, "I dunno.” When he saw a movie about the life of Hank Williams at 9 years old, he thought "that's it!"
He taught himself to play the guitar and, in his teens, he began playing in country bar bands in the greater Los Angeles area where he grew up. The next part of the story is a familiar one. He says he “got a real job" and set performing aside. Fast forward a few decades. After his kids were grown, he moved to Idaho, and that 9 year old boy was READY TO ROCK!
In addition to performing over 150 shows a year, he is co-founder and one of the directors of the Northwest Country Music Association. The NW-CMA engages in the promotion of LIVE country music in all of the Northwestern states. When he’s not performing, he says he’s “busy promoting and trying to help other artists live their dreams, too!”
